Call to Worship (adapted from Psalm 78)
L: Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
P: We incline our ears to the words of your mouth.
L: I will open my mouth in parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old;
P: Things we have heard and known, that our anc "Give Ear, My People" estors told us.
L: We will not hide them from our children;
P: We will tell to all generations the mighty works of God.
L: So that they should set their hope in God,
ALL: That they not forget the works of God, and keep God's commandments.

Communion/Stewardship Meditation: Choose you this day who you will serve.  Will it be the gods of consumerism, always calling us to buy more and better, and forget the needs of the hungry?  Will it be the gods of comfort, always calling us to distract ourselves, to indulge in false recreation, to escape from our own suffering and that of others?  Will it be the gods of despair, always calling us to give up, to abandon hope, to sink into inaction instead of acting in compassion?  Choose you this day who you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
