The Back Story: I often find Isaiah to be a great source of strength and encouragement, and am particularly fond of Isaiah 55.  I like the reassurance of this passage, that God's Word always finds its mark and always accomplishes its purpose.  As a pastor, I can attest to how easy it is to think that what we're doing is really not making an impact on the world.  It's an act of sheer faith sometimes to keep going on.  But here God promises that every act of love, every attempt at peace, every offer of forgiveness or compassion has its resonance in God's plan - and all is working toward greater freedom and sweeter fruit for the world.

Congregational Response
The Word comes full back to me, to me.
The Word comes full back to me.

Song Leader
I do not send my love in vain,
My compassion never fails,
Like snow off the mountains, like softly drifting rain,
I refresh the world with my love.

The sower shall have finest grain.
The hungry shall hold his fill.
You shall go out with joy, and be led forth in peace,
The trees of the field will clap their hands.
