The Back Story: I was inspired by reading the poem "I Thank You God" by ee cummings.  It just seemed to lend itself to music!  And once I began running the words through my mind, this traditional English tune immediately to attach itself.  This was one of my easiest songs to write - and one of the most fun to sing (in my opinion)!

Tune English Traditional "Here We Go A Wassailing"
Thank you God for granting us this day amazing so,
A blue true dream of sky and the yes-ing things that grow,
Greenly leaping trees, whisp‘ring-spirits on the breeze,
Now the ears of my ears waking up to the sound
And the eyes of my eyes  looking round.

It was I who died before but breathe again today,
Birthday of wing-ed life and love’s unending play,
Happy sun shines anew, earth now sings an endless tune,
Now the ears of my ears waking up to the sound,
And the eyes of my eyes  looking round.

Delight of eyes, and taste and touch, we know Creator‘s here,
Close as breathing in, or as silence in the ear.
Though our minds cannot know yet our hearts can feel its glow,
Now the ears of our ears waking up to the sound,
And the eyes of our eyes looking round.
